Despite its flaws, La Femme Nikita is an impressive debut by a promising director who has a lot to offer. In addition to being a stylish film, it is also
a smart piece of spy fiction that uses the Pygmalion story of an untamed woman’s transformation into a sexy killing machine as a commentary on society’s
demand that soldiers in battle be intelligent, civilized people.
